Multiple Teams · New Head Coaches, Same Green Wave Pride!

Several programs will be under new leadership for the 2017-2018 school year.  Holly Gunio (Girls Soccer), Layla Neal Digby (Volleyball), Katie Garland (Swim)and Mercedees Jordan and Ashley Jacobs (Cheer, Co-Head Coaches) will be taking the reins of their prospective programs.  See their bios below:

Holly Gunio – Girls Soccer
Holly Gunio coached JV Girls Soccer for 5 years (1 year as head coach and 4 years as assistant) at West Hall High School in Georgia. She was the Assistant Varsity coach this past year. She is going into her third year teaching math at Summerville High School.

Layla Neal Digby – Volleyball
Layla Neal Digby has taught Physical Education at Summerville High School for the last three years where she also served as assistant varsity volleyball coach and an assistant for the girls basketball program. Coach Digby is originally from Chapin where she was a three sport athlete.

Katie Garland – Swim
Coach Garland comes to us from the Spartanburg area where she taught at Dorman HS and Fairforest Middle School. Coach Garland swam competitively in the Rock Hill Swim League.

Mercedees Jordan & Ashley Jacobs – Competitive Cheer
Coach Jacobs was an assistant for the Varsity squad during the 2016-2017 season, while Jordan was the JV Head Coach for the 2016-2017 season. Coach Jacobs is a native of Clinton, SC. She cheered at Presbyterian College for 4 years. Jacobs is in her third year of teaching at Summerville High where she teaches Algebra 1. Coach Jordan is in her third of teaching at Summerville High where she teaches Geometry. Jordan is from Long Island and recently married Brian Hannigan in the summer of 2017. Both coaches work to instill a confidence and yearning for success in their cheerleaders. Both truly believe their experience in the program has helped these young women gain confidence and a sense of structure in their life. Joining the coaching staff as Junior Varsity coaches are Kalen Iffert and Alyssa Germanoff.
