Tonight was an incredible night to be a tennis fan. Win or lose, all the kids gave everything out on court. The match came down to 2- and 3-singles. Both teams were pumping each other up every opportunity they had. Taylor and Thomas both dropped the first sets, but felt they were in control of the matches. Those are the sets I like to lose. The boys stayed confident in their games and just started executing when they put themselves in good positions. Because of that, they came out on top.

#5 Spicer Pagan (7th grader) also played a great match. He deserved to play #5 tonight and showed his teammates why. He was a little nervous right away because of the magnitude of the match. He got over that quickly and gave us a solid performance.

#4 Rahi Gajjar came out tonight with a chip on his shoulder. Last time he met Kizer, he lost in a third set tie-break. Tonight, as Rahi came off the court victorious in 2 sets, he said he had no plans of losing!

With the win, I think we solidified the #2 seed in the region, which can get us 2 home matches in the play-offs. The boys just have to get into the right mindset for that. I think that started tonight. James Island played great tennis. The match could easily have gone to #1 doubles. I’m proud of the Green Wave tonight.
