Tonight we celebrated 3 incredible seniors: Stephen Wills, Taylor Reynolds, and Chris Edwards. They had their last regular season home match. All three gentlemen played awesome tonight. Edwards came out of the gate looking for redemption. A month ago, Chris lost to Dre in a 3rd set tie-break. Tonight, there was no way Chris was letting that happen. His serve was on and aces were running wild. His groundstrokes were deep, and he took advantage of them by getting to the net and finishing the point. To finish the regular season, Chris ended the match with an ace and take the victory 6-2, 6-2.
Stephen and Taylor both had great warm-up matches for Dutch Fork on Thursday. They were able to work out some kinks in their games and gain some confidence and momentum. Both athletes did a great job of moving McCrackin and Yeung, and making them hit one more ball.
It was a great team win. All of us played well and showed up to give the seniors a great match to remember. The parents came out, built a shrine for our seniors, grilled, and cheered on these 3 that have meant so much for the SHS tennis program.
