What a night of celebrations! To kick the day off, we celebrated our Seniors, Jackson and Nick. These two, in just a few short months, have transformed themselves from big-time Summerville football names into Green Wave tennis players. They played incredible tonight, hitting great angles and having quick hands at the net. I saw some of the best forehands I’ve seen from Chambers tonight and Jackson hit one of my favorite jumping overheads I’ve seen all season. More than that, they brought out an incredible crowd of people to cheer us on tonght. Congrats Seniors!!!

We also got to celebrate our own, Junior Rahi Gajjar. Tonight, Rahi earned his 60th career win with the Green Wave. Again, Rahi played incredible tennis. Silas really pushed hard tonight, hitting great serves and returns, but Rahi had an answer for everything. I was really impressed with his shot and spin selection tonight.

With a win at #1 Singles, Sam Dimuzio also swept his region opponents to earn himself the title of Region Player of the Year. This is a huge honor, and I cannot remember the last player from Summerville to hold it. Sam played really solid tonight. He made smart decisions and stayed cool the whole match.

I can’t say it enough, but I’m really proud of the commitment these boys have made to each other, their school, and the sport of tennis. This coming Tuesday, we have one of our biggest challenges of the year as we play against the 2019 State Champions, Philip Simmons, at Doty Park. If you want to see some of the best tennis in the area, come out and cheer our boys on at the park.
